What is Title I?

Title I is a federally funded program under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) that provides financial assistance to schools with high numbers or high percentages of children from low-income families. The goal of Title I is to ensure that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education and reach, at a minimum, proficiency on challenging state academic standards and assessments.

As a Title I school, McKinley Elementary uses these funds to support students who are academically at risk or educationally disadvantaged by providing additional resources, instructional programs, and support services.
