The announcement of this award follows shortly after the recognition of Gabrielino High School in the San Gabriel Unified School District as one of the Best High Schools by U.S. News & World Report.
SGUSD is renowned for its comprehensive Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) program, designed to integrate high-quality arts education into the students' learning process. Additionally, the district offers Mandarin and Spanish Dual Language Immersion Programs, aiming to develop bilingual and biliterate students ready to succeed in a globalized world.
The district also emphasizes the "Portrait of a Graduate" initiative, which outlines the key attributes such as creativity, collaboration, empathy, resilience, and communication skills. These are cultivated in students to prepare them for success beyond school.
