My goals are to make school a positive experience for all students. To encourage each student to strive to reach their greatest potential and develop as a problem solver, creative, and critical thinker. I believe that all children learn by doing.
I have taught at McKinley Elementary for 20+ years mainly in 2nd grade. I received my B.A. in Liberal Studies and a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from Cal. State Los Angeles. In 2018, I earned a Master's in Curriculum Design and Development with an emphasis in Design-Based Learning from Cal. Poly Pomona.
I have additional certificates: Thinking Maps Training, Google Training, UCLA Writing Project & Science Training, Daily 3 Math and Daily 5 Training, and Being a Writer.
I love to read, hike, swim, and ride my bike when I'm not working.
