After School Interventions

Many students have an opportunity to  participate in our iReady/ALEKS adaptive learning program to receive additional support in the area of English Language Arts and mathematics.  These programs take place after school from 2:30pm-4:00pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. An after school snack is provided and the programs are completely FREE.

iReady/ALEKS are not homework sessions but an opportunity for students to strengthen their foundational math/English skills through a computer adaptive web-based program.

The iReady program is a supplemental program that will provide the students with intervention in the area of reading.  It is a web-based adaptive program that will pin-point a student’s area of need and help them improve in those areas.

The ALEKS program is a supplemental program that will provide the students with, “A Web-based, artificially intelligent assessment and learning system. ALEKS uses adaptive questioning to quickly and accurately determine exactly what a student knows and doesn't know in a course. ALEKS then instructs the student on the topics she is most ready to learn. As a student works through a course, ALEKS periodically reassesses the student to ensure that topics learned are also retained. ALEKS courses are very complete in their topic coverage and ALEKS avoids multiple-choice questions. A student who shows a high level of mastery of an ALEKS course will be successful in the actual course he or she is taking”.
