Coding at McKinley

Thanks to our 1:1 technology in the classroom, we have the opportunity to repurpose our scheduled computer lab time. We are introducing some of our 4th and 5th grade classrooms and Newcomers to coding. Students will learn critical thinking skills to solve problems and prepare them for technological opportunities in the 21st century. Our goal is to start with the upper grade students and then eventually introduce 2nd and 3rd grader in the coming year if not sooner. This will prepare them to program our Lego robots that are waiting in the STEM lab. The entire curriculum is provided by Google through their cs-first.com website and will start on October 18th.
